A resurgent Daniil Medvedev won his initial trophy for 882 days with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.

Medvedev's varied form on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serve in especial - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with former trainer Gilles Cervara.

Now working with Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over opponent Moutet.

This marks the player's initial championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court after March of 2023.

The win also indicates Medvedev has achieved twenty-one championships at 21 various competitions.

"It's the first time I am participating in a event with my two daughters together, so to get a title is especially meaningful," commented tennis professional the champion.

"This victory is in honour of my second daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I got when my child her name was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six championship matches, comprising in the German tournament earlier this year.

His counter-punching strategy and frequent emotional displays on court had prompted observers to doubt if his skill to perform at the highest level was finished.

But the player has made changes in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and play positively, backed up by an better serve.

Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the first set against the challenging opponent, winning 4 of the concluding five points to take the lead.

Both players traded breaks in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his first tour title, took control to create a third set.

The opponent defended four early opportunities in a close deciding set before the champion won the break to that score to close out the victory.

Suitably, he secured the win with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman failing to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
